Construction of military ships as the main post-war specialization of Shipyard «Yantar» has strong long-standing traditions. Defense products of the Yard is far-famed to several generations of seamen from all Navies of the former USSR and today’s Russia, as well as to a number of foreign countries by it’s top quality, reliability and high combat effectiveness.
For the period since 1949 till 2010 the Enterprise has built for Russian Navy 154 ship, to be exact:
• Patrol ships Project 29 (3 units.), Project 42 (7 units.), Project 50 (41 units.), Project 11540 (2 units.);
• Anti-submarine ships Project 159 (24 units.), Project 35 (18 units.), Project 1135 «Burevestnik» (19 units.);
• Project 1155, 1155.1 «Frigate» (9 units.);
• Large landing ships Project 1171 «Tapir» (14 units.) and Project 1174 «Nosorog» (3 units.);
• Space communication ships Project 1826 «Rubidiy» (3 units.).

In 2008 Joint Stock Company Shipyard «Yantar» became a member of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. In 2009 the Yard delivered to the Customers two ships: environment protection vessel «Sprut» for the Cost Guard Services of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia and Patrol ship the «Yaroslav Mudry» for the Russian Navy. The main Customers in the military sphere are Navy of Russia and Navy of India.

At the present days the following orders are under construction at Shipyard «Yantar»:
• Large landing ship the «Ivan Gren» Project 11711 developed by JSC «Nevskoye PDB»;
• The «Seliger» vessel for tests and trials conducting Project 11982, developed by JSC «Almaz «CMDB ».
• In the frames of military technical cooperation Shipyard «Yantar» is constructing for Navy of India a series of Frigates Project 11356 developed by JSC «Severnoye Design Bureau».
