NEWS 30-06-03 Shipyard Yantar took part in Naval Saloon in Petersburg. ![]() Shipyard Yantar have presented environment protection patrol vessel “Sprut” at Naval Saloon in St. Petersburg in the end of June. Environment protection vessel of project 6457Ń (SPRUT) is the further development of a series of the newest environment protection vessels designed by the German company «Abeking & Rasmussen». Three partly outfitted hulls building No. 6457, 6458, 6459 (including first vessel of the series - Building No. 6457) have been built for the German customer by Shipyard «Yantar» within 2001-2003. This series of patrol ships with displacement of 900 t is distinguished by high economy due to German engines MTU with output of 5500 KWt. The vessel has high speed -22 knots, small dimensions – 66,6 m length, 14,1 m breadth, 3,8 m draft. Patrol vessel "Sprut" with endurance of 30 days has hull lines similar to fishing vessel which gives possibility to come close to poachers and trespasser. The design is so good that in the beginning of June 2003 shipyard Yantar have signed a contract with Russian Border Guard Service for building of the first vessel of "Sprut" type. Assembling of the vessel’s hull beginning from 16th of June. The first "Sprut" for Russian Border Guard Service will be launched in the end of the year. Progress of works is according to schedule and delivery of the complete vessel is scheduled for year 2004. The second order for Russian Border Guard Service will be laid on the building berth in November. In future it is planned to build four more environment protection vessels of this series. ![]() << Back to news list |
