Shipyard Yantar has participated in international shipbuilding exhibition "Nor-Shipping-2003".



Shipyard Yantar has participated in international shipbuilding exhibition "Nor-Shipping-2003". This exhibition took place in the capital of Norway - city of Oslo from 3 to 8 of June. This is the third exhibition in Norway in which representatives of shipyard Yantar have participated.

This year Yantar had his own stand at the territory of Russian pavilion. Representatives from St Petersburg, Vyborg, and Bryansk also had their stands at the exhibition. Shipyard Yantar has long term relations with several Norwegian shipbuilding and shipping companies in sphere of building, shiprepair, modernization conversion and of transport and fishing vessels, different types of steel structures. High quality of Yantar’s production is known on foreign market and of course in Norway. Confirmations of this are reputation of Yantar’s trade mark among norwegisn shipbuilders and shipowners, quality certificate from Det Norske Veritas and consequently new orders.

It is necessary to mention that "Nor-Shipping" exhibition is the largest international shipbuilding exhibition in the world. Leading companies of marine industry from all continents take part in the exhibition. It is more than 1200 companies from 32 countries, 19 national pavilions. It is a big event for shipyard Yantar, possibility for development of business relations with foreign partners. Among numerous of visitors vice governor of St Petersburg Sergey Vetlugin was noticed. He had an official visit to Norway. Stand of the most western yard of Russia was also interesting for director of International Maritime Defense Saloon (IMDS-2003) Mr. Kotov, trade representative of Russia in Norway Mr. Vladimir Andreiv, director of exhibition’s organizational committee Mr. Tollef Schiander. Shipyard’s delegation was invited by director of classification society Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to reception at DNV’s headquarter devoted to opening of the exhibition, to official reception at Russian embassy in Norway there meeting with the Russian ambassador Juriy Kvicinskiy took place. Moreover representatives of shipyard Yantar attended at reception at Norwegian capital city hall during presentation of Tur Heierdhal prize.

Yantar’s delegation was the only one among representatives of Russian enterprises which was invited to official reception on the occasion of closing of the exhibition. It was very notable considering the fact that such powerful enterprises as Vyborg shipyard and Baltic shipyard participated in exhibition.
Participation was successful for shipyard Yantar. Most of scheduled was realized. Agreements for placing orders at shipyard Yantar with several Norwegian companies were achieved. Relations with Spanish and Holland shipowners was established.
