Shipyard Yantar has presented the frigate of project 11541 "Korsar" at international exhibition "LIMA 2003".


Shipyard Yantar has presented the frigate of project 11541 Korsar at international exhibition "LIMA 2003".

Shipyard Yantar took part in international exhibition of navy and air forces "LIMA 2003" in Malaysia and presented the frigate of project 11541 "Korsar". The exhibition took place from 30th of September till 5th of October.
Yantar continue emphatically offer ships of it’s produce to world market of navy equipment. International exhibition of navy and air forces "LIMA 2003" is considered to be the one of the most attended in South-East Asia. Many countries of the world present their production and new technologies in field of military industry at this exhibition.

At the exhibition shipyard Yantar presented frigate of project 11541 "Korsar" which was presented before at several navy saloons and attracted attention of potential buyers. Main advantage of the ship is that it’s prototype is already in armoury of Russian Navy.

However "Korsar" is the further development of project 11540, which was built at shipyard "Yantar". The first vessel of this series cruiser "Neustrashimyi" is already 10 years belong to battle structure of Baltic Fleet of Russian Federation and have confirmed efficiency of the design.

Modernized frigate of project 11541 is designed for searching and destroying of submarines, it can fight against surface ships, defend from air attacks both independently and in tactical groups. It has special hangar for helicopter on board.

Main particulars of the ship of project 11541: length 117,6 m, displacement – 4500 t, speed 30 knots, cruising range – 5100 miles. Armament complex include assault missile complex "ship – ship" antiaircraft missile complex of medium and close range, single barrel 100 mm artillery emplacement, torpedo-tubes 533 mm, projectile bomb launcher (RBU -6000) antisubmarine or rescue helicopter.
