NEWS 11-06-08 The 3rd ship for the Indian Navy was carried out by JSC Shipyard "Yantar". ![]() The keel laying ceremony of the 3rd ship for the Indian Navy of Project 11356 was carried out by JSC Shipyard "Yantar" on 11 June 2008. The Indian Ambassador Mr.PP Shukla arrived to participate in the ceremony. The construction of three ships is being carried out within the contract between India and Russia signed on 14 July 2007. The cost of the contract is about 1,6 Billion USD. The length of the ship is 124,8 m., breadth – 15,2 m, full-load displacement – 4,035t, full running speed – 30 knots. The ship’s complement consists of 220 persons. The ships of this type are designed for combat operations against surface ships submarines and air defense against assault airborne objects in ocean and sea areas.The construction of 2 frigates is to be finished in 2011, the construction of the 3rd frigate is to be finished in 2012. << Back to news list |
