		SHIPREPAIR & CONVERSION Shiprepair division of "Yantar" has gained wide experience in execution of any kinds of repair and disposes for this purpose with all necessary equipment and highly skilled personnel. Shipyard "Yantar" repairs about 70 vessels per year and continuously widening this sphere of its activity. Yard's customers are both the Russian and Norwegian, German and other west European shipowners."Yantar" offers the following services: repair of main engines and auxiliary engines repair of electric and radio navigation equipment repair of ships' hull including renewal of framing and shell plating hull cleaning up to SA 2.5 painting with epoxy and antifouling coatings repair of shaft lines and propellers repair of fittings and piping repair of hydraulic systems production of ship furniture, outfitting of accommodation units, insulation works of any kind measuring instruments calibration Shipyard "Yantar" has in its disposal unique complexes for testing of vessel's power and propulsive plants under load requiring no sea trials. "Yantar" has also gained wide experience in work for refitting, lengthening and global conversions of vessels. By the order of a Norwegian shipowner our shipyard has carried out re-construction a series of 5 dry-cargo vessels. The following work has been done on the vessels: hull lengthening by 15.4 m eplacement of main engine hatch covers hydraulics repair installation of new hatch covers aft shortening including reinstalling of relevant equipment a lot of steel renewed at shell plating, framing and piping complete painting of the vessel including cargo holds repair of the mooring winch, separator and ballast pump The ex-bulker m/s "Tege" 1298 DWT had been converted to a container ship. The following work has been carried out during the conversion of the vessel: fabrication from AlMg new pilothouse, wheelhouse and masts including outfitting of the rooms and navigation systems installation raising of forecastle deck renewal of auxiliary engines 3x300 kW including trials fabrication and installation of deck cranes 2x32 t SWL, boat davit and main switchboard including trials re-construction of ventilation system for accommodation and holds installation of the new water fire-fighting system repair of rudder-propeller complex, main engine and anchor winch a lot of steel renewed at shell plating, framing and piping completel painting of the vessel including cargo holds and tanks Authority of "Yantar" in shiprepair attracts customers of complicated repair works. Our shipyard has carried out complex works for refitting to floating museums of the worldwide known research vessel "Vityaz", the space flights control vessel "Kosmonavt Patsaev" as well as submarine pr. 641 which have become a visit card of the city of Kaliningrad. In 2003 our shipyard carried out work for re-equipment of the ex-patrol ship of the Russian Baltic Fleet "Druzhnyi" (pr. 1135), which was also built at "Yantar", into a floating cultural-entertaining complex that will be opened in the city of Moscow. One of the biggest sailing vessel in the world the four-mast bark "Kruzenshtern" has become a permanent partner of the shipyard.
